MERLAB Adds a New Initiative to Its Events Promoting Scientific Awareness Among Children
MERLAB has added a new initiative to the events it organizes to instill scientific awareness in children. The event commenced with an informative presentation on the importance of science delivered by MERLAB Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuğba SARDOHAN KÖSEOĞLU.
In the practical session of the event, a workshop titled "Making My Own Cream" was conducted under the guidance of Pelin DÜZTEPE, the owner of Pharmakoz Cosmetics, and MERLAB Deputy Director, Asst. Prof. Dr. İkbal Demet NANE.
In this fun and educational workshop, held with the participation of Süleyman Demirel Kindergarten students, the little ones experienced the step-by-step process of preparing their own cosmetic creams. Throughout the event, children learned fundamental scientific processes such as measuring, mixing, and observing through hands-on practice.
As a result, they both had fun and had the opportunity to discover how science is intertwined with daily life. At the end of the event, the students took home the creams they had prepared, keeping this special experience as a souvenir.
MERLAB instructors stated that through such events, they aim to spark curiosity about science in children and support skills such as creative thinking and problem-solving at an early age.
Conducted with the participation of Süleyman Demirel Kindergarten, this workshop stood out as a beautiful example demonstrating how effectively science and education can come together at an early age.
