Scientific Discovery with Little Students at MERLAB: "Cream Workshop" Event

Operating under Isparta University of Applied Sciences, the Central Research Laboratory Application and Research Center (MERLAB) continues its activities aimed at raising scientific awareness among children. In this context, a "Cream Workshop" event was organized in collaboration with Private Creative Children Koza Kindergarten.

Organized with the participation of 3 and 4-year-old students from Private Creative Children Koza Kindergarten, the event aimed to introduce children to the laboratory environment and help them gain learning-based, hands-on experience. Within the scope of the event, MERLAB Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuğba Sardohan Köseoğlu explained to our little guests what scientists do, guided them on a mini discovery tour with simple equipment, and reinforced their sense of curiosity.

During the practical phase conducted under the guidance of MERLAB Deputy Director Asst. Prof. Dr. İkbal Demet Nane, the children had the opportunity to experience fundamental scientific thinking skills—such as ingredient selection, application sequencing, and establishing cause-and-effect relationships—within a fun and educational process.

Designed around the theme of cream production, this workshop concretely demonstrated the university's commitment to community service, while also successfully showcasing the applicability of scientific education to early age groups.
